Calvin A. Townsend
Calvin Townsend’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation matters including premises liability cases and commercial disputes. Mr. Townsend represents a wide array of clients including religious institutions, small businesses and individuals.
Prior to joining Kopon Airdo, LLC, Mr. Townsend worked as a Senior Trial Attorney with the Chicago Transit Authority for four years. While there, Mr. Townsend handled a variety of tort litigation personal injury matters, having taken more than fifteen jury trials to verdict. These trials ranged from slip and fall cases, to major train derailments. Prior to joining the Chicago Transit Authority, Mr. Townsend was an associate attorney at a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm located in Chicago, where he handled cases involving catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, and breach of contract claims.
Mr. Townsend attended The University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Townsend attended The John Marshall Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. While at John Marshall, Mr. Townsend was on The Review of Intellectual Property Law Journal and a council member for the Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Program. Mr. Townsend is a member of the Illinois Bar.
Mr. Townsend volunteers at his church and currently resides in the suburbs near the Chicago-land area with his wife and two children.
