George Sweeney focuses his practice on civil litigation. Prior to joining Kopon Airdo, George worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he gained significant courtroom experience, including as a first chair on both bench and jury trials.
George earned his juris doctorate from Loyola University Chicago in 2018, where he received a merit scholarship and appeared on the Dean’s List. During law school, George externed for a Federal District Court judge in the Northern District of Illinois, and an Illinois Supreme Court justice. Additionally, he completed extensive coursework on pre-trial litigation, evidence, trial practice, and advanced legal writing for civil litigation.
Prior to law school, George worked for four years as an aide in the Illinois Governor’s Office.
