Linnea L. Schramm
Ms. Schramm’s practice focuses on healthcare law. She handles civil litigation matters, including medical malpractice, healthcare, long term and skilled care, and mental health issues. In doing so, Ms. Schramm has represented large hospital systems as well as individual healthcare professionals. Linnea has successfully tried multiple cases to verdict in both Cook and DuPage counties. Her practice also includes representation of physicians and nurses before state disciplinary boards.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Schramm has worked with hospital clients in structuring credentialing procedures, addressing accreditation issues, and preparing responses to both state and federal regulatory agencies. Linnea has an extensive background in risk management in the healthcare arena, through not only her role as an attorney, but also as a registered nurse. Having worked in a variety of settings, including academic healthcare institutions, private not-for–profit hospital systems, community hospitals and physician practices, Ms. Schramm is familiar with the legal issues inherent in the healthcare industry. Ms. Schramm has conducted multiple risk assessments in both hospital and physician group practices to assist in the reduction of legal claims. She has counseled hospital administrators in negotiating physician contracts, real estate acquisitions, drafting by-laws and preparing both employment and internal operations policies and procedures.
Ms. Schramm received her law degree from the University of Florida. She also earned Bachelors’ degrees in Psychology and Nursing, as well as a Master’s degree in nursing from the University of Florida. Ms. Schramm was a member of the Florida bar from 1995- 2003 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2003.
