Lucas D. Downing
Luke Downing’s practice focuses primarily on complex litigation matters in both federal and state court, including employment, commercial litigation and insurance coverage matters. Luke represents individuals, commercial enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations in a wide range of tort and commercial disputes. He also advises clients on transactional matters, including contract drafting, policy formation, and compliance issues. Luke has also pursued and defended claims in numerous administrative settings, including matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Previously, Mr. Downing was a litigator at a national law firm, where his practice focused primarily on complex insurance coverage matters on behalf of the London market, as well as a range of labor and employment disputes. Mr. Downing is experienced in prosecuting and defending claims of wrongful termination, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and negligence. In addition, Luke has worked on a number of high-profile data privacy and cyber security matters.
Luke graduated from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 2014 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar, as well as the General Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, shortly thereafter.
