Matthew F. Liebert
Matthew Liebert focuses his practice primarily in the areas of personal injury, insurance coverage, healthcare litigation, and subrogation recovery. His clients include skilled nursing and assisted living facilities as well as for profit and not for profit corporations who are sued in a variety of tort and commercial matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Liebert gained considerable civil litigation experience at a firm in Chicago. He represented individuals in personal injury and whistleblower litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. He second-chaired nine jury trials to verdict, drafted several appellate briefs, successfully argued dispositive motions, and represented clients in settlement conferences involving multi-million dollar claims. Mr. Liebert also worked for a Chicago legal aid organization, representing indigent clients in family law matters.
Mr. Liebert graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School, and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago. While in law school, Mr. Liebert was the Executive Articles Editor of the Journal of International and Comparative Law and the Senior Articles Editor of the Journal of Legislation. He also was elected by his fellow students to serve on the Honor Council in the Notre Dame London Program. Additionally, he was an intern for Judge Brigid M. McGrath in Cook County’s Law Division.
