Mr. May’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation in state and federal courts, including the defense of long term care facilities, premises liability litigation, employment matters, and the representation of commercial and not for profit organizations. He counsels clients on a wide range of risk management and legal issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. May practiced in Indiana, obtaining a wide range of legal experience in both state and federal law. Joe has experience in litigating civil proceedings in federal court regarding employment and civil rights matters, and experience in state courts in the context of general civil matters. Mr. May also has experience in civil appeals, and has assisted in the appellate review of complex cases. Mr. May is licensed in both Illinois and Indiana.
Mr. May graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington and earned his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law. Mr. May is a United States Marine Corps Veteran, earning several commendations and awards during his enlistment.
